Main Street Theatre Company have joined forces with Kibworth Theatre Company to bring to the stage 'Allo 'Allo.
Based on the hugely successful British television series, this uproarious comedy relates the adventures of a hapless cafe owner, René Artois, in occupied France during World War II.
He and his wife have stashed the priceless painting of the "Fallen Madonna" with the big boobies by Van Klomp, a portrait stolen by the Nazis, in a knockwurst sausage in their cellar. René is also being forced to hide two British airmen until the French Resistance can repatriate them.
Communications with London using a wireless that is disguised in a very unusual manner add to the many embarrassments this intrepid proprietor endures in the company of his patrons.
When René receives news that the Führer is scheduled to visit the town he must summon all the wit he can muster to save his café and his life.
You can see all of your favourite TV characters in the flesh, including René's tone-deaf wife Edith, Colonel Von Strohm, Gestapo officer Herr Flick and, of course, the fluently french-speaking Officer 'Good Moaning' Crabtree!
